The race lasted 6-7 hours but the memories will last a lifetime. We trained, prepared and planned all year long for what turned out to be a phenomenal trip to California. We started in San Francisco,  worked our way up to the 1/2 Ironman Race  in Santa Rosa and then relaxed in the Napa Valley.    Here was our itinerary...

| Jul 29: | Departed St. Louis for San Francisco. We rendevouzed at Ghiradelli Square and took in some of the sights around the wharf. We headed up to Santa Rosa at about 6p and checked into the race hotel which was the Hyatt Vineyard Creek Hotel, two nights. |
| Jul 30: | Plenty to do to get ready for the big race on Sunday. We got our bikes checked out at Norcal, swam in the Russian River, picked up our race packets and took our run gear out to Windsor High School where it would be left overnight in T2. We grabbed dinner and called it a very full day. |
| Jul 31: | Raceday!!! Left the hotel at 5am and headed out to the start. It took everyone between six and seven hours to get through the race. We crossed the finish line, got our medals and drove up to Sonoma for some rest and relaxation in the wine country. Our accommodatins at the MacArthur Place Inn And Spa were truly incredible!!! |
| Aug 1: | Fun in the Wine Country. Visited several wineries including Niebaum Coppola. Lunch at the Oakville Grocery and happy hour back at MacArthurs. Dinner at The General's Daughter. |
| Aug 2: | Drove up to Calistoga and rented bikes for a nice ride around the wine country. What a blast. Wine and ping pong by the pool back at MacArthurs to end the day. |
| Aug 3: | Packed up bikes and headed back to St. Louis. This was an awesome trip!!! |
